Dwight Hare, Ph.D.
Coordinator, Research Fellows
Dwight Hare is coordinator of
research fellows at the National Center for Rural Early
Childhood Learning Initiatives and a professor in the Department
of Curriculum and Instruction of the College of Education at
Mississippi State University.
Dr. Hare is the author of numerous articles and presentations
has served as researcher or evaluator on several externally
funded projects. Most recently, he worked with a team of
researchers from the Southeast Center for Teaching Quality on a
study of the impact of high-stakes testing on teachers
professional development in six Southern states.
Hare is proud to have his students working in many university
educational programs, including Mississippi State University,
the University of Mississippi, Indiana State University,
Arkansas State University, Delta State University, Mississippi
State University at Meridian, the Mississippi University for
Women, Jackson State University, Jacksonville State University,
Purdue University Calumet, the University of Arkansas at Fort
Smith, Idaho State University, and the University of Tennessee
at Martin.
Dr. Hare holds a Bachelor of
Arts in Early Childhood Education and a Doctor of Philosophy in
Education from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
A member of the faculty of Mississippi State University since
1990, he chairs the MSU Institutional Review Board for the
Protection of Human Subjects and the MSU Interdisciplinary
Studies Committee.
