NOV. 30, 2005 | A new map from the Rural Early Childhood Atlas displays the disproportionate number of counties in the Hurricane Katrina region with young child poverty rates above the national rate.

For children ages 0-5 years, only eight counties in the region have rates below the national rate for poverty.

Chad Landgraf of the Rural Early Childhood Atlas created the map.
